Football returned to Husson with a bang in the Fall of 2003 as the Eagles (formerly the Braves) played host to Mount Ida on the campus for the first on-site game in college history. Although the team was defeated in a closely contested battle on Saturday, September 20, the return of football proved to be an important step in the right direction for Husson. After Husson's seventy-plus year hiatus from intercollegiate competition, Head Coach "Gabby" Price leads the team into an exciting rebirth of gridiron excitement.

The Husson Eagles roster for the 2004 campaign included 64 players from the State of Maine and 11 players from out-of-state. The football program at Husson looks to offer young men the chance to compete against the finest NCAA Division III competition in the North East. Playing on a first-class facility such as the Winkin Complex, the football program will continue to make the College proud.
