Exercise Science

If you are fascinated by fitness, health and how the human body moves, Husson University’s Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science may be a perfect fit for you. Exercise science majors study human movement, how to assess fitness and health data and how to help people become healthier through the creation and implementation of research-based exercise plans. Graduates of Husson’s exercise science degree program are prepared to pursue careers in athletic training, coaching, personal fitness training, cardiac rehabilitation, physical therapy or other health-related professional programs or academic research careers.

Program Overview

The B.S. in Exercise Science degree program trains you to assess, design and implement exercise plans for groups and individuals who may be healthy or have diseases or injuries. As a student in this program, you’ll learn about exercise science from expert faculty through courses that emphasize experiential, hands-on learning so you are well prepared to apply your knowledge in the field. Through your exercise science courses, you’ll learn about the science of physical movement, exercise testing and interpretation, sport psychology, training for health and performance, injury and disease management and prevention and much more.

Upon graduating with an exercise science degree, you’ll be well-prepared to pursue a career in personal and group fitness instruction, athletic training, physical therapy, injury rehabilitation and more. You’ll also be well positioned to pursue graduate school, medical school or a research career.
