Degree Options
Husson students can choose from a variety of degree options in Criminal Justice, including:
- Bachelor's degree
- Dual Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology
- Dual Bachelor's and Master's degree (completed in 5 years)
- Master's degree in Criminal Justice Administration
These degrees in criminal justice give students flexible pathways to study criminal justice, criminal psychology, and leadership within the justice system.
Hands-On Experience
Undergraduate students in this program may choose from a wide range of internships and attend the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in their senior year to pursue certification to become eligible for employment as a full-time law enforcement officer upon graduation. That hands-on preparation can be valuable for students interested in becoming a police officer, working in criminal investigation, or building experience for other public safety and justice careers.
Master of Science in Criminal Justice Administration
The Master of Science in Criminal Justice Administration Program incorporates the strengths in the traditional areas of law, budgeting, and policy-making, with careful attention to the development of skills in communication, interpersonal relations, psychology and leadership essential to effective performance in organizations. This emphasis on leadership, psychology, communication, and policy helps support students pursuing advanced study and careers across criminal justice administration, criminology, and related justice fields.
Curriculum
Coursework in Husson’s criminal justice programs can help students strengthen their understanding of criminology, criminal investigation, legal systems, psychology, and justice administration while building skills that apply to careers such as police officer, private investigator, corrections professional, or other criminal justice roles.
