Husson University Names Interim Athletic Director

Husson University Vice President of Student Experience Chris Grotton has been named interim athletic director, effective immediately.
Grotton, who has overseen the athletics department since January, will lead the upcoming budget roll out process, athlete recruiting and other key initiatives of Husson Athletics as the university prepares for the Fall 2025 academic semester.
“Vice President Chris Grotton is a familiar and respected administrator around campus and in our athletics department. He will bring leadership and stability as we look ahead to our incoming class,” said President Lynne Coy-Ogan.
Grotton replaces Amanda Nelson, who resigned on Friday, June 6. Nelson was appointed in early May and began work on June 2.
“I’m happy to step up in this way, and excited to spend more time working closely with our assistant athletic director and all our coaches,” Grotton said. “We have a very successful athletic program, and I’m excited to help keep the momentum going.”
Grotton joined Husson in September 2020, and previously served as Associate Vice President for Safety and Security. He will be serving in the role while Husson reopens its search for an athletic director.
