Advanced Counseling Approaches

Husson University’s Post-Master’s Certificate in Advanced Counseling Approaches offers 18 flexible, customizable credits to help you target specific clinical skills and expertise.

The Post-Master's Certificate in Advanced Counseling Approaches offers two course delivery options:

• On-Campus: Attend classes in person, connect face-to-face with classmates and faculty, and access Husson's campus resources.
• Synchronous: Attend live classes remotely, providing the flexibility to learn from anywhere while interacting with faculty in real time. In-person participation in a clinical internship is still required.

Courses:

• CO 715 Advanced Techniques or, if met, CO Elective (3 credits)
• CO Electives (15 credits)

Clinical Mental Health Counseling

If you have a degree in school counseling or a related field, and you want to pursue an advanced credential that will further your career and enable you to obtain clinical licensure, then the Post-Master's Certificate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling may be the right program for you. Through this 18-credit program, you will learn advanced counseling techniques, ways to address relationship and family dynamics, and how to evaluate client needs and develop treatment plans. You will also gain valuable real-world experience in these areas through a clinical internship.

The Post-Master's Certificate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling two course delivery options:

• On-Campus: Attend classes in person, connect face-to-face with classmates and faculty, and access Husson's campus resources.

• CO 801 Marriage and Family Counseling (3 credits)
• CO 846 Diagnosis and Treatment Planning (3 credits)
• CO 891-900 Clinical Internship (900 hours - 9 credits)

Designed for those who have a degree in clinical mental heatlh counseling or a related field and want to pursue school counseling certification or licensure, our Post-Master's Certificate in School Counseling provides the graduate coursework you need to advance your career - without the time and commitment of earning another degree. Through this 18-credit program, you'll learn about the role of a school counselor and the methods they use in working with different types of students. In addition, you'll also real-world knowledge and skills through participation in a school counseling internship.
