Welcome Weekend
Get Ready for Welcome Weekend!
Welcome Weekend is Saturday, August 26 - Sunday, August 27, 2023, and we can’t wait to see you on campus! More information will be posted here as it becomes available.
Beginning August 1, all resident students can select their Move-In Time block for Welcome Weekend through their MyHousing portal homepage. You’ll have one hour of time, which will give you and your helpers plenty of room and will help us to manage resources for families during this busy weekend.
If you have a hold on your account (financial, immunization, etc.), you will not be able to move in. Please resolve these holds prior to your arrival to campus.
When you arrive to campus, Husson Circle will be a one-way loop around campus. Your first stop (in your vehicle without having to exit) will be at our Welcome Tent to check in with our staff to ensure you have resolved any pending account holds. Please have your MyHousing Portal open and logged in to show our staff. Any holds will be posted to your MyHousing homepage. If clear, you’ll be directed to your Residence Hall. If you need to resolve a hold, you will be directed to park in Lot 8a and enter the O'Donnell Commons and speak with the appropriate staff. When resolved, staff in O’Donnell Commons will notify Residence Hall staff of your expected arrival at your residence hall. Please see some important reminders below:
- The campus loop will be one-way during the move-in hours on Saturday, August 26
- Once at your residence hall, volunteers will be there to assist you with temporary parking, unloading, and moving your belongings to your room. You’ll see signs and volunteers to assist you with directions.
- You’ll receive instructions on how to enter the hall and your room:
- Traditional Hall Residents: you’ll receive your room key and card access to exterior doors.
- Darling Learning Center Residents: you’ll be given instructions on how to encode your Eagle ID card for access to suite and room within (no room keys).
- If you arrive late or after we have closed hall check-in for the afternoon, please meet the Resident Assistant in the lobby of your hall at 7 pm.
- You’ll receive instructions on completing your Room Condition Report (which must be completed within 48 hours of your check-in date).
We encourage all first-year commuter students to arrive to campus on Saturday, August 26, 2023 for mandatory events:
- New Commuter Student Welcome at 1 PM, in Libra Lecture Hall (Students Only)
- New Student Convocation at 2 pm, Newman Gymnasium (Students Only)
- HE 111 Husson Experiences first class at 3 pm; you'll be directed from the Convocation
Please arrive earlier in the day if you need to take care of any business with offices or departments on campus.
We are allowing Early Arrivals for those with extended travel, academic obligations, on-campus employment, or other significant demonstrable reasons. This form will be available August 1 at noon. Any early-arrival athletes for Fall 2023 preseason do not need to complete this form, as coaching staff have already been notifying our office.
