Exercise Science program Overview

Our exercise science degree trains you to assess, design and implement exercise plans for groups and individuals who may be healthy or have diseases or injuries.You’ll learn from expert faculty through courses that emphasize experiential, hands-on learning so you are well prepared to apply your knowledge in the field. You’ll also learn about the science of physical movement, exercise testing and interpretation, sport psychology, training for health and performance, injury and disease management and prevention and much more.

With a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, you can pursue careers in fitness and athletic training, physical therapy, occupational therapy, injury rehabilitation, exercise physiology, research and even education. Our exercise science program is also a great undergraduate degree for those who are interested in pursuing an advanced health-related degree. Husson University offers multiple graduate-level health degrees, including a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD), and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT).

Exercise science CURRICULUM

The exercise science program features a rigorous curriculum that allows you to begin taking courses in your major during your first semester on campus. You’ll take courses in kinesiology, exercise physiology, motor learning in human performance, principles and strength of cardiovascular conditioning and more. You’ll also be able to tailor to your studies through a diverse variety of elective courses.
