As a student in the B.S. in Criminal Justice program, you'll take courses that give you a comprehensive understanding of the American criminal justice system and prepare you for advancement in law enforcement and legal careers. The list of courses available to Criminal Justice students includes:

CJ 101 Intro to Justice and Public Safety

iStock-1310108737.jpgYou'll learn about the social realities of crime, criminal behavior and the law. You'll examine the different parts of the criminal justice system, such as law enforcement, prosecution, defense, the court system, corrections and juvenile justice, and learn about the roles they play.

CJ 215 Police Operations

You'll learn about the day-to-day operations and of police departments and police officers, the challenges they face and how police equipment and operations are changing. You'll also learn about the different jobs and positions found within police departments, a patrol officer's duties, the use of staff deployment and tactical operations.

CJ 341 Investigations

In this course, you'll learn about all different types of investigations including public, private and criminal. You'll specifically look at modern-day investigation tools, policies, procedures and techniques used by law enforcement. This course will utilize recent court cases and investigations to provide context to the material being taught and keep you up to date on current events in the world of criminal justice.

Michael Kamorski, Ed.D

Michael Kamorski, Ed.D., earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in management from the University of Massachusetts in Lowell, MA. He also holds two master’s degrees; one in business administration from the University of Montana in Missoula, MT, and another in strategic military studies from the US Army Command and General Staff College in Leavenworth, KS. He earned a doctorate in higher education from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Kamorski is a retired US Air Force Lieutenant Colonel with 24 years of active duty service, including a combat tour in Afghanistan as the lead investigator for the 82nd Airborne Inspector General, and four years at the Pentagon where his duties included working as the Chief of Counter Weapons of Mass Destruction and preparing Congressional testimony for the US Air Force Director of Operations. He has served on faculty at the US Air Force Academy, University of Virginia, Liberty University, James Madison University and Piedmont Virginia Community College. Kamorski retired from military service in 2014 and settled in Levant, ME, with his wife and four children. He became a full-time faculty member for Husson University in Fall of 2014.
