Husson University's College of Business to host Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Course

Husson University's College of Business will hold a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification course from 12-7pm on March 7th, March 21st, April 4th, April 18th, and May 2nd at the Richard E. Dyke Center for Family Business at Husson's Bangor campus.

The course provides participants with an understanding of the Lean Six Sigma program, which is a methodology of problem-solving that includes strategies and tools for making key business processes more efficient and effective.

The 35-hour program will educate students to the Green Belt skill level and participants earn a certificate upon successful completion, which involves demonstrating that they have utilized the techniques learned within their business. Participants are trained to become change agents who will work to implement the Lean Six Sigma program to improve processes in their organization. The sessions are scheduled two weeks apart so that participants will be able to apply the tools learned in each session.

"Lean Six Sigma is an incredibly valuable program that helps both small and large corporations sustain a corporate advantage by providing tools that may result in dramatic improvements in speed, quality, and profitability."

The instructors are Joe Allen, MS, CSCP, and Susan Knapp, Ph. D. Dr. Knapp has over 25 years of experience as a manager and trainer and has been a consultant to Fortune 500 companies, universities, government agencies, hospitals and the United States Air Force. Joe Allen is the Director of Education for the Down East Chapter of APICS and has held many positions of increasing responsibility in Supply Chain Management and International Logistics.
