Husson Students Network with Potential Employers at the 2026 Fall Career Fair

Husson University students descended on Newman Gymnasium Wednesday to network with 70 local organizations, making connections, filling swag bags and learning how to sell themselves during the 2026 Fall Career Fair.
For students, the fair is an opportunity to network, build relationships, and gain powerful experience having professional and informative conversations with organizations from around Maine and greater New England.
Felix Moran, a senior in Husson’s marketing communications program, came to the fair excited to talk to potential employers but said it can be challenging.
“Even though there aren't a lot of marketing opportunities here, it’s good practice just to be able to talk to people [about their organizations],” Moran said.
The career fair is organized by Career Services and is just one of the amazing opportunities they provide to students. Director of Career Services Kate Axelsen Foster encourages students to attend as many events as possible to strengthen relationships and expand networks.
Students Morgan Collins, Hailey Tarbox and Jaquie Pangburn were looking for part-time employment and summer internship opportunities. Collins and Pangburn said they looked at the list of companies before attending the event to prepare.
“I want to get an internship with a bank, so I looked for all the banks that would be here,” said Pangburn.
Senior Reagan Monroe also practiced his elevator pitch, so he was prepared to introduce himself to the employers he met.
Among those tabling were some Husson alumni including Janessa Bishop ’25, who attended the fair representing WVII, where she works as a co-anchor on Good Morning Maine. Her organization was seeking students interested in job shadowing or internships, focusing on students’ interests in the newsroom.
“It’s really exciting to be able to pass that knowledge onto the kids who are here now, because we’ve been in their shoes,” said Bishop.
Students are recommended to follow up with those they meet with thank you emails or LinkedIn connections.
