More than 70 employers from a variety of industries were at Husson University on Wednesday, Oct. 29 to network with students who could become future interns and employees at the Fall 2025 Career Fair.

“It’s a very good chance for networking, both with students and with other agencies,” said Janene Moran, a Physician and Healthcare Recruiter with Houlton Regional Hospital. “I always tend to meet someone I didn’t expect to see here.”

The event drew companies from around Maine and nationally, but several from the Greater Bangor area were particularly interested in students who want to remain local.

“We don’t necessarily see an immediate return on investment, but getting our name out there lets students often remember us later,” said Krystle Bowden, a recruiter for PCHC. “When they are ready to look for those internships, externships, job shadows, or full careers, they remember us and reach out. We can then help guide them along the way and find the best fit for them.”

Though most companies were Maine-based, some national companies were present as well. The Connecticut-based Preferred Therapy Solutions, for example, came to share information with Husson’s Physical and Occupational Therapy students.

“We have a strong student affiliation program with our company and Husson,” said Brenda Achorn, the Rehabilitation Director at Preferred Therapy Solutions. “We’re here to put our name out there with that partnership.”

That drive to help students work in the community pushes a lot of employers, even if those students aren’t necessarily going to work with their company in particular.

“We love to come to this fair,” said Morgan Sturdivant ‘11, a Husson alumni and assistant news director at WABI. “We get to meet a lot of students and people from the community that are either vendors or looking for a position. You may not have a job with us today or in the future, but know we’re here for you and the community.”

Husson’s Career Services’ next Career Fair will take place in the Spring 2026 semester.
