BANGOR, MAINE — Husson University will honor veterans at a series of events on Nov. 9 through 10 in honor of Veterans Day.

The events kick off with a Veterans Day presentation planned for Thursday, Nov. 9. Husson University President Robert Clark will offer remarks before introducing speaker Scott Oxley ‘89, president of the Galen Cole Family Foundation.

Following the presentation, there will be a Veterans BBQ at the Dickerman Dining Center. Husson alumni, students and staff who are veterans are invited to eat for free. Students who are military dependents can also eat for free that day.

The honoring will continue on Friday, Nov. 10 as the Husson Student Government holds its first-ever MVP Walk to benefit the Maine Veterans Project. The walk will kick off at Newman Gymnasium and continue around the circle. It’s free to participate but donations are welcome.

“Veterans Day is set aside to honor those who have served in the United States military during all wars. We are proud to honor those who’ve accepted the call to duty and made a commitment to protecting our democracy,” said Husson President Robert Clark.
