Last night in Lewiston, Maine, a senseless tragedy occurred that will leave many families and our state as a whole forever changed. We are devastated and our hearts are with our fellow Mainers affected by this tragic event. Violence is never the answer.

We want you to know that at this time, there are no known threats to our campus or the greater Bangor community and no known connections to Husson. We are continuing to monitor the situation and will update you if anything changes.

The safety and security of our students, faculty and staff is of utmost importance. After careful review and noting no connections to the Bangor region, we made the decision to open campus today, continuing with classes because we are stronger together and believe that community will be what buoy us during this difficult time. However, we encourage students to make individual choices for their own level of comfort.

Our hearts go out to the greater Lewiston community and all affected by this horrific tragedy. May we continue to stay safe, vigilant and support each other in the days ahead. Please know we will continue to monitor the situation closely and will keep you informed of developments as they may affect the Husson community.
