BANGOR, MAINE - Momentum Aroostook (MA) and Husson University announced today that they have signed an agreement to provide all of MA’s members who successfully enroll in any of the University’s non-capped undergraduate and graduate degree programs offered at Husson’s Northern Maine campus with a 10 percent tuition discount. This includes the University’s popular Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs.

Momentum Aroostook is a group of highly motivated Aroostook County young people who work together to promote career, social and community betterment. Husson University is the state’s leading provider of professional education.

“Professionals who are part of Momentum Aroostook that are interested in advancing their careers through education will now have the opportunity to access Husson’s programs at a reduced rate,” said Melissa Rosenberg, director of admissions at Husson University. “Increasing the number of people with undergraduate degrees and MBAs in Aroostook County can help attract businesses to the area. Employers look for a knowledgeable workforce who can bring strategic thinking and leadership to their organization when they choose a new location.”

“In addition, education can help existing businesses become more successful. For example, management skills and techniques learned in business school can often help organizations become more efficient and grow. More successful businesses in Aroostook County will lead to increased economic growth,” concluded Rosenberg.

Momentum Aroostook members can apply the 10 percent reduction in tuition costs to any of University’s non-capped undergraduate and MBA programs offered at Husson’s Northern Maine campus in Presque Isle. These include the traditional Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a general/corporate focus and Husson MBA programs with concentrations in biotechnology and innovation, data analytics, healthcare management, hospitality management, organizational management and risk management.

The discount can also be applied to undergraduate programs in accounting, business administration, software development, as well as business and professional studies.

“Momentum Aroostook is excited to partner with Husson. Working together, we can provide our members with on-site education at the University’s Northern Maine campus in Presque Isle. Completing a college degree is a great way for individuals to strengthen their careers,” said Ginger Kieffer, chair of Momentum Aroostook. “Working cooperatively with Husson in this way will help to enhance professional knowledge in our region and provide value to our members.”

Any Momentum Aroostook members that have completed a bachelor’s degree from a recognized, accredited institution are eligible to enroll in Husson’s MBA programs. This includes individuals who have completed bachelor’s degrees in disciplines other than business. To assist these students, Husson will offer a leveling course or courses that can be taken online. This will provide these students with the basic knowledge they’ll need to successfully complete their MBA studies.

In addition, any MA members who have completed some graduate coursework are welcome to apply for transfer credit. Individuals interested in applying transfer credits to their MBA program should contact Husson University Graduate Admissions by calling them at (207) 404-5661 or emailing them at graduateschool@husson.edu. They are also more than happy to answer any other questions individuals may have about this program and the admissions process.

As an added incentive, the application fee will be waived for Momentum Aroostook members who opt to follow Husson’s admissions procedures to become a continuing education undergraduate or a graduate student.

“Choosing to enroll in an undergraduate or graduate business program at Husson University is a smart choice,” said Jennifer Flynn, M.Ed., director of Husson University’s Northern Maine campus. “Husson University is the home of Maine’s largest College of Business.
