This fast-paced competitive cook-off will put the culinary skills of four Husson University student teams to the test. Each team of two students will be given food that would normally be found in a dorm room mini-fridge. For example, students might be given ramen noodles, macaroni and cheese, canned pasta, or some common fruits and vegetables. The students will then need to come up with an “elevated dish” in just 45 minutes using these ingredients, a hot plate, a microwave, common utensils and some kitchen creativity.

The winning team will receive a gift card to an area restaurant. There will also be prizes for the second and third place teams. In addition, Members of the audience will be eligible to receive food and gift certificates from Dominos, McDonalds and Governor’s Restaurant.

Competing “chefs” will be students attending Husson University.

The competition will be judged by three members of the University’s Alumni Board. They are (in alphabetical order):

• Liana Fellis. Fellis graduated from Husson in 2007. In addition to being a member of the Alumni Board, she is the student employment manager in the Office of Human Resources at the University.

• Steve Ferris. Ferris graduated from Husson is 1985 and is currently the president of the institution’s Alumni Board.

• Leslie Trott Pelkey. Pelkey graduated from Husson in 2002 and is a member of the University’s Alumni Board.
