Biography

Sarah received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Mississippi University for Women. She later received her Doctor of Nursing Practice at University of Mississippi Medical Center where she published a qualitative systematic review protocol surrounding the reasons those who are struggling with infertility participate in infertility support groups. She has spent the majority of her nursing career in the mental health field, from working on an acute medical/psychiatric unit to working on an inpatient pediatric psychiatric unit. Sarah has also worked as a nurse educator in the hospital setting and as an Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) nurse. Not only does Sarah love teaching, she also currently works per diem as a Family Nurse Practitioner at an inpatient psychiatric hospital. Sarah is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Maine Nurse Practitioner Association.

While she is not teaching and caring for patients, Sarah loves to hike and spend quality time with her husband and two sons.
