Biography

Marlon earned his Master of Engineering degree from the University of Mindanao in the Philippines and his Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Southeastern Philippines. He is also a Professional Regulatory Commission of the Philippines-certified and licensed professional electronics engineer. He spent almost ten years in the Philippines working in industry and academia, and he was a program head at the University of Southeastern Philippines' Electronics Engineering Department before coming to Oman, Middle East. In Oman, he was heavily involved in an IT infrastructure that served the government-owned technological colleges that are now known as the University of Technology and Applied Sciences. His significant accomplishments include winning the Ministry of Manpower's portal design competition for technical colleges and leading a team in the creation of the university's student and staff portal. He then relocated to the United Arab Emirates to work in the Higher Colleges of Technology, a large government academic institution for Emiratis, where he taught and managed world-class CIS laboratory facilities. He has worked as an IT consultant for the EREE Group of Companies, a small private corporation in the Middle East, in addition to teaching.

"Learning by doing, in my opinion, is a far more fascinating, memorable, and personal approach to education. There is a lot of accessible information that we may read in books or obtain through various online media or digital channels, but none of it is useful until we can apply it to our daily lives. Experiential learning promotes knowledge retention and the development of success skills and I appreciate that Husson University encourages and supports this method"
