Biography

Dr. Karen Huhn is Professor and Chair of the School of Physical Therapy at Husson University in Maine. She graduated Northeastern University with a BS in Physical Therapy and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey with a Master of Health Science and a PhD in Health Science. She received a Promotion of Doctoral Studies II Scholarship for her dissertation work comparing virtual and paper-based cases and their effects on students’ clinical reasoning. She is a 2015 graduate of the Educational Leadership Fellowship and the founding chair of the ACAPT Clinical Reasoning Curricula and Research Consortium. Dr. Huhn is a member of the Journal of Physical Therapy Education Editorial Board and serves as a reviewer for additional journals.


Professional Work

Research:

Dr. Huhn explores best practices for teaching and assessing clinical reasoning  with a particular interest in the use of virtual simulations to enhance clinical reasoning skills.
