I started out in college as a music major- I have a Bachelor’s of Music with teacher certification in Music from Youngstown State University. After receiving my Bachelor’s degree, I continued with my studies and earned an MBA in Accounting at Youngstown State University. I finished my MBA while working full-time at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). I became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and worked at the IRS for ten years. During my time at the IRS I worked in Exam, Exempt Organizations and Appeals.  After leaving the IRS, I was able to combine my love of teaching with accounting and taught college-level courses in Accounting and Taxation in both the traditional classroom and online environment.  I completed my DBA in 2016, my doctoral study was a case study of sustainability reporting at a nonprofit academic institution.  My research interests are sustainability accounting, accessibility and inclusivity in business, international accounting and taxation, blockchain technology, and ERP business organization software (SAP).  I am married with two adult children.  I continue my music interests by playing drums and percussion with my son who is a musician.
