Biography

Christopher Coleman earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology from the University of Southern and a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Husson University.

Christopher worked for the Maine State Police for 25 years and also served as the Chief of the Ellsworth Police Department. With the Maine State Police, Christopher served as a Trooper, Detective, Sergeant, and Troop Commander. In addition, he was Commander of the Maine State Police Tactical Team and Commander of the Major Crimes Unit. During his law enforcement career, Christopher was involved in hundreds of death investigations which included approximately 125 homicides. In addition, Christopher responded to over 400 tactical team calls which included barricaded felons, high risk warrant service and hostage rescue.

Christopher also served as Cadre Supervisor for the 42nd Maine State Police Training Troop and the 9th and 10th Basic Law Enforcement Training Programs. Christopher also taught Media Relations at the Criminal Justice Academy for many years and has been teaching within the School of Legal Studies since the Fall of 2019.
