Athletic Administration

The Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Athletic Administration

Students earning an MBA, concentrating in Athletic Administration, are prepared for careers in the athletic industry. This popular and continually expanding field includes management careers at the professional, interscholastic, intercollegiate sports levels, as well as, opportunities in campus recreation, community and youth sport programs, and many more management and programming careers. The Master of Business Administration emphasizes the integration of theory and practice to train current and future administrators. Professional courses focus on the most current concerns facing business administrators including: legal issues, finance, accounting, human resources, managing change, strategic planning and policy making. The Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Athletic Administration combines the traditional MBA training with a special focus in the field of athletic administration. The curriculum is designed to prepare individuals for the ever changing economic, political, legal, and marketing concerns that are a part of the athletic sport industry.

The following courses must be completed during the program: (9 Credits)
BA 605 Management Communications 3
BA 625 Global Strategic Management Prerequisite: 18 Credit hours including BA 6003
BA 643 Strategic Change Management 3

One of the following must be completed during the program: (3 Credits) 3
BA 620 Financial Management Prerequisite: BA 602
BA 703 Financial Management in Healthcare Organizations Prerequisite: BA 602
