Q: Do my current accommodations apply to my online classes? 

A: Yes. The most common accommodation that applies to an online class format is “extra time” on timed quizzes, tests, and exams. Online quizzes, tests and exams can be formatted with extra time included. Your faculty have been instructed on how to make such adjustments in Canvas. If you are concerned that your extra time accommodation was not provided in an online test, please contact your instructor for clarification, or you may contact this office at


Q: What if I require a reader for tests, a scribe for tests, or utilize Sonocent for note taking?

A: If you are now participating virtually and you had the option for tests to be read aloud to you, you can use text-to-speech through a number of applications and programs including Natural ReaderTTS Reader, or Read&Write for Chrome. If you require a scribe for a written exam, please contact to make arrangements or consider utilizing a dictation program. Sonocent users still have full access to this program for the remainder of the academic year.  Licenses will be appropriately extended if needed.  For help with any assistive technology needed for access, please contact


Q: Can I meet with the Director virtually?

A: Yes. Elizabeth will be available at to make arrangements for a Zoom meeting. Current students can also utilize Google Hangout for video-meetings through their student email.  Students may also call the Center for Student Success at 207-992-1934 for general questions on accommodations, and can speak to the director personally by calling 207-973-1017.
