All full-time undergraduate students are required to have some form of health insurance that includes coverage for illness and accidents. Husson University makes available to its full-time undergraduates a primary plan of accident and sickness insurance through Monumental Life Insurance Company. For information on the cost of this policy, please click here to go the Husson Costs webpage. A student covered by another health insurance policy may waive this plan by presenting proof of other coverage to the Business Office and by signing a waiver card. Any questions should be directed to Husson's Business Office.
Maine State Law (22-MRSA Sec. 6359) requires all full-time and part-time degree-seeking, post-secondary school students born after 1956 to show proof of immunization against measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR), and proof of a tetanus and diphtheria shot within the last 10 years. Two doses of the MMR vaccine are required.
The mission of the Health Center is to enhance the academic environment of Husson by providing quality health care, health education, and preventive services to the students in a caring, cost effective, and convenient manner. The center provides a bridge for the health care needs of our students as they transition away from home. We emphasize preventative and outpatient care.
