Husson University's College of Business announces a new School of Accounting. According to Dr. Ron Nykiel, Dean of the College of Business, "the new School status is well deserved for this exceptional educational program."
Nykiel added; "we are also pleased to announce that Dewey Martin, (pictured here) a long time Husson faculty member has been named the Director of the School of Accounting."
Martin is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant, he holds a Bachelors degree in Accounting and a Masters degree in Taxation. He has worked for two of the largest accounting firms in the world and as a Tax Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Boston. He is a member of numerous professional organizations and has been recognized as the Accountant Advocate of the Year for Maine and New England by the Small Business Administration. The Maine Society of CPA's also recognized him with their Public Service Award. He is very active in his community of Hampden and was just named the 2011 Hampden Businessperson of the Year.
Dean Nykiel indicated, "Dewey Martin's leadership of the School of Accounting will continue to result in the development of outstanding professionals in a field where job demand remains strong in the State and region."
Husson's College of Business is the largest in Maine with nearly 1,400 students. It recently launched a new MBA degree with concentrations in Corporate Management, Health Care Management, Hospitality Management, and Nonprofit Management. The School of Accounting offers an A.S. in Accounting, B.S. in Accounting, B.S. in Accounting/Computer Information Systems, and B.S. in Accounting/MBA.< back to all articles
