Husson University will host Department of Health & Human Services Commissioner Mary C. Mayhew on Thursday, January 19th for a President's Breakfast. Breakfast hors d'oeuvres will be served at 7:30am in the Darling Atrium of the Meeting House and the presentation will begin at 8am in the Gracie Theatre.
Commissioner Mayhew will speak to the structural changes underway at the Department of Health and Human Services, the financial challenges the agency faces and the effort to transform how services are delivered to Maine's most vulnerable people.
"These issues will impact thousands of Mainers in the months and years to come, and we look forward to hosting members of the greater community for this important discussion lead by Commissioner Mayhew," stated Husson President Robert Clark.
Prior to Commissioner Mayhew's appointment, she served as the senior health policy advisor for the LePage Administration, focusing on health care issues and policies on both the state and federal levels. Before joining the LePage Administration, Mayhew served at the vice president level for the Maine Hospital Association for eleven years. She was previously a partner in the public affairs firm of Hawkes & Mayhew based in Augusta and has also served as a manager of state government relations for Equifax Corporation in Atlanta, Georgia.
