Maine Nurse Practitioner Association Annual Conference Presentations
This year's Capstone Project for Husson's FCNP students included the opportunity to be presenters at the Maine Nurse Practitioner Association's 15th Annual Spring Conference for professional development, held in Portland, Maine, on April 14 - April 16.
The theme this year was "Responsible Prescribing: Topics for Nurse Practitioners Throughout the Lifespan", and drew over 200 Nurse Practitioners and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses from across New England.
Of the ten poster presenters at the conference this year, six were Husson FCNP students:
- Lourie Swimm, "Pain Control in Nursing Home Residents with Dementia and Chronic Illness"
- Alissa Roy, "Hypothyroidism Has Negative Consequences During and After Pregnancy: Should Subclinical Hypothyroidism be Treated During Pregnancy?"
- Lisa DeCesare and Tamara Vogel, "Nummular Exzema"
- Paula Charette and Vanessa McDougall, "HealthWay 2010: The St. John Valley HealthCare Resource Guide"
The Capstone Project is a requirement of the graduate work in Husson's Master of Science in Nursing - Family and Community Nurse Practitioner track.
