For many students at Husson University, the importance of scholarships
and financial aid cannot be overstated. Nearly 90% of our students
qualify to receive federal, state, community and/or campus-based
financial aid and scholarships. Husson students need your support, and
endowed scholarships are critical to their success at Husson.
An
endowed scholarship is a gift that creates a permanent legacy for Husson
students. Endowed gifts are placed in a permanent fund and a portion of
the income earned from that fund provides scholarship assistance to
students, both on a need and merit basis. Husson’s policies for
endowment investments and spending are available upon request.
Funding
of endowed scholarships begins at the $25,000 level and can occur
through an outright gift of cash or appreciated stock, or through a
multi-year pledge. Also, scholarships can be endowed through a bequest
or other charitable giving instruments (e.g. gift annuities, trusts,
etc.).
Endowed scholarships can be named in honor of an
individual or family member (living/deceased), in honor of the donor
himself/herself, or in recognition of a business or organization.
The
donor, in consultation with the Office of Advancement, can determine
the parameters of the scholarship to reflect their specific wishes.
However, scholarship awards based on financial need or academic merit
without additional restrictions are strongly encouraged.
You may make additional gifts to your scholarship fund at any time and all gifts are 100% tax-deductible.
In no uncertain terms, a student scholarship at Husson is the gift of a lifetime.
Starting
an endowed scholarship - in your name or in memory of a loved one - is
easy. For more information or to make a gift to an existing endowed
