EAGLEWeek Schedule Overview:

OASIS is pleased to offer a sneak preview of EAGLEWeek 2014!

• Phase I begins August 24th with our international student orientation program which is designed for new international students and provides the opportunity to acclimate to both the U.S. and to Husson University before the start of the semester. All international students attend Eagle Week.

• Phase II begins on August 27th when students who are undecided about a major but who are interested in careers in the health and sciences professions are invited to join their international peers for a three-day program filled with workshops, team-building activities, introduction to various careers, and recreational and cultural activities.

Phase I-

• Sunday, August 24th International students move into residence halls and get acquainted; tour campus; meet Peer Mentors; shopping excursion
• Monday, August 25th Workshop on transitioning to the U.S. & Culture Shock; Acadia National Park trip; evening social activities
• Tuesday, August 26th "College 101" workshop on succeeding in class-Part I: notetaking, introduction to research, studying for exams; getting to know Bangor; evening social activities
• Wednesday, August 27th "College 101"-Part II: taking and debriefing an exam; placement testing; Ropes Challenge Course; evening social activities
• Thursday, On to Phase II

Phase II-

• Wednesday, August 27th Students who are interested in health and science majors move into residence halls; tour campus; meet Peer Mentors and international student peers; Ropes Challenge Course; evening social activities
• Thursday, August 28th Career exploration project; overview session with professors in health, sciences and business fields; Bog Walk; evening social activities
• Friday, August 29th Faculty panel choices (three choices: health; sciences; business); introduction to career options (community leaders in health, sciences and business professions); ice cream social
• Saturday, August 30th A trip to Portland to the Sea Dog baseball game is planned; optional activity choices
• Sunday, August 31st Welcome Weekend activities begin for all new Husson University students
