Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice, School of Pharmacy
Michael Remkus, PharmD, BCPS, is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. He joined the Husson University School of Pharmacy in September, 2012. Dr. Remkus received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Creighton University, and is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist. He has extensive experience as a clinical specialist in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, as well backgrounds in numerous fields of pharmacy practice including specialty practices, community settings, long-term care, and pharmacy management & coordinating clinical practices.
Dr. Remkus has worked in the pharmacy field outside of the United States for several years. These experiences included lecturing pharmacy students, graduate pharmacists, and medical students at Cayetano Heredia University – College of Pharmacy, an internationally recognized private non-profit academic institution that is home to one of the most prestigious medical programs in Peru, South America.
He has facilitated the publication of several abstracts, research and clinical articles. Dr. Remkus has also reviewed and edited several publications for the continuing education and credentialing of clinical pharmacist specialists. He has enjoyed precepting and assisting pharmacy students and pharmacists for many years. Dr. Remkus will continue his clinical practice in Internal Medicine and Critical Care/Cardiology, at Maine-General Hospital, in Augusta, while servings as a faculty member at Husson University School of Pharmacy.
