CPT Keith Gauthier

CPT Keith Gauthier was born in Grand Junction, Colorado. He is a 2005 graduate of the Northern Arizona University with a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice.

CPT Gauthier joined the Marine Corps in 1997 and completed a four year enlistment as a Mortarman with the 1st Battalion 7th Marines. Upon completion of his enlistment he attended college and commissioned through Officer Candidate School as an Infantry Officer and was assigned to the 1st Infantry Division with the 1st Battalion 26th Infantry in Schweinfurt, Germany. In 2006, CPT Gauthier deployed to Baghdad, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Mechanized Platoon Leader.

After returning to Germany, CPT Gauthier was assigned as the Mortar Platoon Leader with 2nd Battalion 28th Infantry as well as a Rifle Company Executive Officer. In 2008, CPT Gauthier was again deployed to Karbala, Iraq as the Headquarters and Headquarters Company Executive Officer for the 172nd Infantry Battalion.  Upon complete of his second deployment to Iraq, CPT Gauthier attended the Maneuver Captains Career Course in Fort Benning, Georgia and was subsequently assigned to 2nd Battalion 34th Armor at Fort Riley, Kansas. In 2010, CPT Gauthier deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan as the Assistant Operations Officer and Armor Company Commander. Upon completion of command CPT Gauthier was assigned to the University of Maine as the APMS.
