A student central resource dedicated to providing for the tutoring needs of Husson students. Have questions about your homework? Need help studying for a test? Want some advice on study skills? Come see us…we can help with all of that!
The Husson University Learning Center provides tutoring services to the campus community. These services are free to enrolled students at any of the schools on the Husson campus, and include instruction in subjects such as college mathematics, statistics, chemistry, physics, anatomy, psychology and many others. There are also tutors available with experience in degree specific classes including criminal justice, physical therapy, nursing, pharmacy, and more.
The Learning Center is staffed by both faculty and student tutors. Student tutors in the center are hired based on their mastery of the subject matter as certified by Husson faculty, and are required to carry a 3.0 cumulative GPA. These tutors are more often than not Husson students who have completed courses with excellent grades and a strong ability to communicate this knowledge with their peers.
The Learning Center is overseen by Dr. John Lowe and has a strong relationship with the Dean of Students, who provides academic outreach services, counseling, and accommodations for student academic needs. Students often utilize both services to maximize their academic potential, especially those students who have difficulty adjusting to the rigor of collegiate academic expectations.
Appointments can be set up in advance by either visiting, calling, or emailing us. Walk-ins are always welcome, and the schedule is very flexible to accommodate both traditional and non-traditional students.
