The Robert E. White Gallery at Husson University presents mixed media artist Patricia Pasteur

Date of Release: August 18, 2014

The Robert E. White Gallery at Husson University presents mixed media artist Patricia Pasteur September 8 – October 30, 2014 with an artist’s reception September 10, from 5-7 pm. The exhibit, Cold Stream Reflections (Altered Imagery), is a blend of photography, digital art, and painting on canvas. The inspiration comes from the colors, lights, textures as seen outside my window in the beautiful Maine woods on Cold Stream Pond in Lowell, Maine.

Pasteur’s work is the result of a great deal of experimentation and happy accidents. Using a blank canvas painted with bright, vivid colors in acrylic, it is then treated with a digital ground which enables the colors to fully absorb the dye-based ink from the printer making it waterproof and permanent. Several photographs are then blended together and printed on the archival canvas. According to Pasteur, “I never know what the final outcome will be. I love taking an ordinary photograph and making it extraordinary.”
The White Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and located at 1 College Circle, Bangor, ME. For additional information contact 941-7887.
