Biography

Dr. Tianzhi Yang joined Husson School of Pharmacy in the spring of 2009. After obtaining her Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Peking University Health Sciences Center in Beijing, China, Dr. Yang completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Texas Tech University School of Pharmacy focusing on drug delivery, transporter characterization, pharmacokinetic study, and therapeutic evaluation. Dr. Yang also received extensive pharmacy practice training. She is a licensed pharmacist. Her teaching, research, and practicing experiences help students well connect basic pharmaceutical sciences to pharmacy practice.

Research
Dr. Yang’s research interest focuses on understanding the blood-brain barrier and developing new approaches for the treatment of brain diseases. She has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented her research findings at many national and international conferences. Dr. Yang has received several grants from intramural and extramural sources, including Maine Cancer Foundation and National Institutes of Health (NIH).
