Biography

Emilia Purington joined Husson University in January 2019 as an Adjunct Instructor, after earning her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maine (2018), M.S. from the University of Maine (2015), and B.S. from Manhattan College (2013).

Emilia later joined the Husson Faculty as an Assistant Professor in the fall of 2021.

Throughout her time here, Emilia has focused on the teaching and development of the introductory chemistry lecture and lab courses. Recently, Emilia took over the coordination of the Chemistry 1 and Principles of Chemistry courses.

Emilia spent her graduate studies researching paper coatings, focusing on the migration of starch and latex during the coating and drying processes.

This year, Emilia is starting research on the transport and properties of utilizing microbubbles for drug delivery.
