Resident Hall Security Officer - Temporary

Husson University is seeking a candidate to fill a temporary (1 year), full time Resident Hall Security Officer position. The overall purpose of this position is to be responsible for the protection, safety and security of the resident students, their personal property, and that of the Husson University.
This position is a full time, temporary overnight position (12:00 Midnight – 7:00AM) Monday through Friday (35 hours).
Job Duties may include, but not be limited to:
• Respond to all residential emergencies:
• Assist residential life staff with the enforcement of residential policies:
• Professionally interface with and assist resident students:
• Investigate violations of the Husson University Community Code and Statute laws:
• Conduct routine walking patrols of all four resident halls and peripheries:
• Monitor resident parking lots and enforce parking regulations:
• Answer and respond to all calls pertaining to the resident halls:
• Prepare incident reports and other paperwork as assigned:
• Perform backup duties and assist duty officer when required:
• Maintain satellite office in professional order.
• Monitor security video when required.
• Check boiler temperatures, restart, and call facilities personnel when required:
• All other requirements, duties, and training as it relates to Husson University Full Time Safety and Security Officer:
Candidates must be willing and available to work nights, weekends, and holidays when required, be able to work independently, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, have good decision making skills, and be able to represent Husson University in a professional manner. The candidate should be familiar with the use of computers, 2-way radios, cell phones, safety and security equipment, and first aid and AED procedures. A valid State of Maine driver’s license is required as is the ability to pass a criminal background investigation. Law Enforcement, criminal justice, or/and security training preferred.
