Husson Spring-Deadline Scholarships

Students must apply for the following scholarships during the spring semester and selections are made by the Scholarship Committee. They are all included on one application form made available mid-spring term via the Husson's student intranet services.

Douglas H. & Ana M. Brown Scholarship
One-half of the awards made annually from the funds shall be to outstanding students majoring in a business field and one-half to outstanding students majoring in nursing.

Frank M. Carter Memorial Scholarship
Established by friends and colleagues in the memory of Frank M. Carter, this scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior accounting major from Maine who demonstrates both financial need and academic excellence.

Fred R. Dingley Scholarship
Awarded to a student from Lee, Winn, Springfield, Webster Plantation, Prentiss Plantation, Topsfield, Macwahoc, Reed Plantation, Drew Plantation, and the unorganized territories of Kingman and Brookton.

William H. Donahue Scholarship
Awarded annually to an upper-class student in the Department of Accounting.

EMGH-EMMC Husson Nurses Alumni Association Scholarship
Awarded to nursing majors and Eastern Maine Technical College nursing graduates in the Husson B.S. nursing program with a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Russell C. & Veronica D. Eustice Scholarship
Awarded to a student majoring in Business Administration and who demonstrates both financial need and the ability to succeed in a business program.

Fleet Bank Scholarship
Awarded to a deserving Husson student.

James & Mildred Judy Scholarship
Awarded to a junior or senior accounting major and nursing major (2 awards).

Elizabeth S. Largay Nursing Scholarship
Awarded to a sophomore nursing major from rural Maine with a minimum GPA of 2.8.

M. Scott McDowell Memorial Scholarship
Established by friends, relatives, and colleagues in his memory, this scholarship is awarded to a third year student from Maine majoring in Business Administration who demonstrates financial need and the ability to succeed in a business program.

Leonard & Renee Minsky Scholarship
Awarded to an upper class Business Administration major from the greater Bangor - Brewer area or other towns in Penobscot county.

William P. Newman Scholarship
Awarded to an upper class male Business major with demonstrated proficiency and sportsmanship.

The Scholar Incentive Award (not included on Academic Scholarship form)
Awarded based on academic performance. Starting after students have completed at least thirty (30) Husson credits, students who have attained a semester grade point average of 3.4 or better will receive $300 and those who have attained a 3.6 or better will receive $400 the following semester. To be eligible, the recipient must attain the requisite semester grade point average during a semester in which he or she is carrying a 12 credit hour or greater course load.   GPA’s will be reviewed and awards will be received during the Fall & Spring semesters only.  Payment of this award is applied toward tuition in the subsequent regular semester of enrollment. Please note that students eligible for renewal of  the Academic, Leadership, or Business Technology Education Scholarship are not eligible for this award.
