Husson University is gearing up to host Homecoming Weekend on Friday, October 12 through Sunday, October 14, 2012. Alumni and community members are welcome to attend all of the festivities, including the musical The Unexpected Boys and a Top Chef Tailgate Cook-Off featuring Food Network Star Finalist Chef Michele Ragussis.
On Friday, several alumni will be inducted into the Husson University Hall of Fame as part of a dinner celebration. Inductees include Private Investor Joseph F. Dooley and Vice President of Sales at Envirolight & Disposal, Inc. C. Keith Bolster. Kyle Poissonnier, owner and founder of Elykssor Clothing, will receive the Young Alumni Award. Thomas E. Thornton, Jr. will be inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame posthumously.
On Saturday, a Top Chef Tailgate Cook-Off featuring Food Network Star Finalist Chef Michele Ragussis as the celebrity judge will take place in the tailgate area. Five local restaurants, including Geaghan’s, Giacomos, Eleven Central, Street Bistro, and This Tart Life, are slated to compete. Each competitor will be given a basket of Maine-made ingredients and will have 30 minutes to prepare a grilled sandwich.
The musical The Unexpected Boys, a tribute to Frankie Vali and The Four Seasons, will take the stage at the Gracie that evening. Other events for the day include a dedication ceremony for the W.T. Gardner & Sons Recreation area, a President’s Breakfast for alumni, friends, students, and parents, a student BBQ, Greek Games, an Alumni & Friends Cocktail Reception, and a Husson Social.
Eight athletic events are schedule over Saturday and Sunday for Women’s Volleyball, Women’s Soccer, Football, Men’s Soccer, and Field Hockey.
