Husson University Business Students Rank First in International Business Competition

Date of Release: August 10, 2011

Students taking Dr. Tom Hutchison's summer business class have placed first among fifty competitors in all four categories of the international business simulation program Glo-Bus.

"The Glo-Bus business simulation program is a good measure of the business skills our students have developed during their undergraduate coursework at Husson, "states Dr. Tom Hutchison. "It is a testimony to the fine work of our faculty that students such as Wayne Hurlbert can compete successfully against students from all other universities worldwide for first place."

The class is working as a team to run all aspects of an international digital camera company. They must outperform their competition in their ability to increase sales, maintain a healthy stock performance, manage costs, and react nimbly to the global market.

Dr. Ronald Nykiel, Dean of the College of Business stated, "We are very pleased to see our students rank at the top in measurable competitive global academics. We are extremely proud of our students, faculty, and the quality of our business program."

The students placed ahead of CALPOLY, University of Maryland, Ryerson University and over 50 others and were ranked number 1 in all four competitive performance measurements.
