The College of Business at Husson University announced the appointment of a new executive director of Entrepreneurship and Executive Education. According to Dr. Ronald Nykiel, Dean of the College, the Office of the Dean has completed its new organizational structure with this appointment.
Dr. Nancy Forster-Holt has been named executive director of Entrepreneurship and Executive Education. Dr. Forster-Holt holds a Ph.D. in Small Business Management and Economic Gerontology, an M.B.A. from the University of Maine, and B.S. from Cornell University in Labor Economics. She is also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Registered Financial Gerontologist (RFG) having completed her coursework at the University of North Carolina.
Dr. Forster-Holt was most recently on the faculty of the School of Business at the University of Maine in Orono. In addition to her academic career, Dr. Forster-Holt is co-owner of Shaw and Tenney, a 150 year-old Orono, Maine based manufacturing company, has served as executive vice president of Maine Savings Federal Credit Union, and as public accountant for the Big Six Accounting firm of Ernst and Young in New York City and Sacramento, CA.
"We are delighted Dr. Nancy Forster-Holt has joined Husson University in this key position in the College of Business." Husson University Provost Dr. Lynne Coy-Ogan stated. "Her wealth of experience and accomplishments, along with her knowledge of Maine marketplace, provide a unique platform for this important position."
Dr. Nancy Forster-Holt will be responsible for overseeing the Dyke Center for Family Business, development and oversight of a new degree program in Entrepreneurship, Executive Education offerings, and certification programs. In addition, the School of Hospitality, Sport, and Tourism Management under the Director of Dr. Lee Speronis will report to Dr. Forster-Holt.
Husson's College of Business is the largest in Maine with nearly 1,400 students. It recently launched a new MBA degree with concentrations in Corporation Management, Health Care Management, Hospitality Management, and Non-Profit Management.
