Chicago’s Second City Comedy Group Comes to the Gracie Theatre

Date of Release: September 10, 2012

Husson University’s Gracie theatre welcomes Chicago’s legendary sketch comedy theatre group, The Second City to Bangor to take on the election in Second City for President. The performance is Saturday, September 22, at 7:30 p.m. on the campus of Husson University. Second City for President kicks off the Gracie’s inaugural season with founding sponsorship from Bangor Savings Bank and show sponsorship from WBRC Architects/Engineers.

If you are suffering from electoral fatigue or if polling numbers and spin doctors have you reeling, then Second City for President is the perfect remedy. The gut‐busting comedy revue promises to dole out laughter at the expense of both sides of the aisle. By running on a strictly pro‐comedy platform, Second City for President is decidedly apolitical, uncensored and unabashedly hilarious. Audiences will enjoy playing along with the next generation of comic legends.

The Gracie’s first season also features an evening of music starring Broadway’s Jennifer Holliday in November, a show direct from Off-Broadway is Potted Potter in January and finally Deer Camp the Musical featuring Bob Newhart’s “Darryl brothers” in March.

Tickets for Second City for President are$25.00 per person. Tickets for the season are $75.00 for all four shows and are available at www.gracietheatre.com or by calling 941-7888.
