Dr. Robert Clark, CFA of Husson University to Speak About Emerging Markets and Strategic Asset Allocation

Published on: April 9, 2015

BANGOR, MAINE - The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Society Maine is sponsoring a luncheon event featuring Dr. Robert A. Clark, CFA, president of Husson University. Dr. Clark’s presentation “Emerging Markets: The Case for Strategic Asset Allocation” will be of interest to anyone interested in investments or planning for retirement.

Even though emerging markets offer investors the potential for better than average returns, investing in these countries can be challenging. Countries like South Korea, India, China, and Russia are all considered emerging markets, yet they each have vastly different economies. Dr. Clark’s presentation will help illustrate the importance of strategic asset allocation as a way to reduce some of the risks associated with investing in emerging markets.

The luncheon presentation is schedule to take place on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Portland Harbor Hotel at 468 Fore Street in Portland, Maine. The event is open to CFA Society Maine members, other financial professionals and members of the public. The cost to attend the event is $25 for non-members and $15 for CFA Society Maine members. Individuals interested in attending can pay at the door.

“Having the opportunity to hear the perspectives of leading financial experts like Dr. Clark is one of the benefits of joining our organization,” said Karen Milliken, president of the CFA Society Maine. “In addition to providing information that financial professionals can use to help advise their clients appropriately, presentations like this help our members earn valuable continuing education credits.”

Dr. Clark’s presentation is worth one continuing education credit toward recertification as a Chartered Financial Analyst. Any CFA is eligible to earn this credit by attending this presentation. Financial professionals who work in accounting, banking, estate planning or insurance are welcome.

Anyone interested in attending this luncheon presentation is encouraged to RSVP to programs@mainecfa.org by email or call Cathleen O’Donnell at (207) 772-3761 prior to the event to ensure there is adequate seating.
