Randy Eckard's watercolor painting of farmhouse

The Robert E. White Art Gallery at Husson University presents “Quality of Light” featuring original water colors of Randy Eckard. The exhibit will run from November 3 – January 2, 2015.
Trained as a commercial artist and ceramicist, Mr. Eckard has thirty-plus years of working exclusively in watercolor. His wanderings and explorations of the Maine coast continue to be a rich source of painting inspiration. Randy Eckard was raised in Hickory, North Carolina, where, “as a child in the long, hot Southern summers that my awareness and appreciation of the changes in natural light began. . . . Light plays an essential role in my paintings. It is as if the subtle or dramatic interplay of light and shadow become the subject more than the objects themselves.”
He has received over 190 awards in watercolor from art festivals and juried shows. Mr. Eckard’s work is widely collected and can be found in both private and corporate collections from Florida to Maine. Galleries currently exhibiting his work include Sandra Morgan Interiors, Greenwich, CT; Redfield Artisans Gallery, Northeast Harbor, ME; and Jud Hartmann Gallery, Blue Hill, ME.
The White Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. For additional information contact 941.7887.
