2013 School of Pharmacy Award Winners Announced

1. Mylan Pharmaceuticals Excellence in Pharmacy Award
Mylan Pharmaceuticals has been sponsoring the EXCELLENCE IN PHARMACY AWARD for pharmacy graduates since 1985. The award honors a graduating senior for his or her academic achievement,personal motivation and unique ability to communicate drug information. This award comes with aframe lithograph and a cash award.
The winner of the Mylan Pharmaceuticals Excellence in Pharmacy Award is Jason Berube.
2. TEVA Pharmaceuticals Outstanding Student Award
Teva Pharmaceuticals has proudly sponsored the Outstanding Student Award for pharmacy schools more than three decades. The award honors a graduating senior who consistently demonstrated exceptional qualities throughout his or her academic career. The award includes the TEVA plaque and a cash award.
The winner of the TEVA Pharmaceuticals Outstanding Student Award goes to Mary Beatham.
3. Natural Standards Academic Achievement Award
Natural Standards, the publisher of the Natural Standards Database, is proud to present its first Academic Achievement Award at Husson University School of Pharmacy. The award is granted to an individual for promoting multidisciplinary, evidence-based research practices, health communication and information. The award includes a certificate and a one-year professional subscription to Natural Standards.
The winner of the Natural Standards Academic Achievement Award is Kari London.
4. Facts & Comparison Award for Excellence in Clinical Communication
Fact & Comparison, the trusted provider of drug information, is proud to sponsor an award for Excellence in Clinical Communication. The award is created to recognize the academic achievement and outstanding communication skills of a graduation pharmacy student. The award includes a certificate, a one-year subscription to Facts & Comparison, and a one-year subscription to Lexi-Complete.
The winner of the Facts & Comparison Award for Excellence in Clinical Communication is TJ Frail.
5. Lilly Achievement Award
Lilly USA is pleased to provide the Lilly Achievement Award to a pharmacy student pursuing further education endeavors. The award includes a textbook from the American Diabetes Association.
The winner of the Lilly Achievement Award is Nate Cookson.
6. APhA-ASP Senior Recognition Award
The APhA-ASP Senior Recognition Award” is presented annual to a graduating student at every school and college of pharmacy who has made the greatest contribution to his or her APhA-ASP chapter. The award consists of a Senior Recognition Certificate and will be recognized in APhA’s national publication.
The winner of the APhA-ASP Senior Recognition Award goes to Steve Carr.
7. Miller Drug Award
Affiliated Health Care Systems is proud to provide the first Miller Drug Award to a graduating pharmacy student for his or her excellence in community practice. The award includes a certificate and a cash award.
The winner of the first Miller Drug Award goes to Miranda Morrill.
8. Bangor Lions Club Community Service Award
The Bangor Lions Club is proud to sponsor the Community Service Award to a graduating pharmacy student who demonstrates commitment and excellence in service to the local community. The award includes a crystal plaque and a cash award.
The winner of the Bangor Lions Club Community Service Award goes to Peter McLean.
9. PCHC Excellence in Ambulatory Care
The Penobscot Community Health Care is proud to present its first PCHC Excellence in Ambulatory Care Award for a graduating pharmacy student who demonstrates dedication to patient education and excellence in ambulatory care. The award includes a crystal plaque, a book and a cash award.
The winner of the PCHC Excellence in Ambulatory Care award goes to Katelin Campbell.
10. HUSOP Professionalism Award
Husson University School of Pharmacy is proud to present its first HUSOP Clinical Excellence Award to recognize the student for demonstrated exemplary standards in professionalism and commitment to the profession.
The winner of the HUSOP Professionalism Award goes to Riley Lizotte.
11. HUSOP Leadership Award
Husson University School of Pharmacy is proud to present its first HUSOP Leadership Award to the student who demonstrated exemplary leadership qualities and commitment to the school. The award includes a crystal plaque and a frame certificate.

13. HUSOP Clinical Excellence Award

14. Preceptor of the Year (Community)

This is presented to a pharmacy preceptor who demonstrates exemplary commitment as role-model and mentor for pharmacy students in patient centered education within the community practice of pharmacy. The award includes a crystal plaque and a framed certificate.
The winner of the Community Practice Preceptor of the Year goes to Paul Flagg.
15. Preceptor of the Year (Institutional)
Husson University School of Pharmacy is proud to present its first Institutional Practice Preceptor of the Year Award. This is presented to a pharmacy preceptor who demonstrates exemplary commitment as role-model and mentor for pharmacy students in patient centered education within the institutional practice of pharmacy.
