MSG Banister (1)

MSG Thomas P. Banister is the Senior Military Instructor for the University of Maine Army ROTC Battalion.  He has served in this position since June 2012.

MSG Banister enlisted into the Army in June 1986.  He has served over 27 years in the US Army.  His assignments have taken him to FT Sill, Oklahoma, FT Benning Georgia, FT Bragg NC, Germany, Indianapolis IN as a US Army Recruiter, FT Carson Colorado,  Schofield Barracks Hawaii, FT Polk Louisiana, FT Campbell Kentucky and Maine.

His deployments include:  Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm (Dec 1990-May 1991), Operation Iraqi Freedom ( Sep 2005-Sep 2006), Operation Iraqi Freedom (Oct 2007-Dec 2008) and Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) (June 2010-April 2011).

His awards include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, the Combat Action Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge and the Gold Recruiting Badge.

Master Sergeant Banister has 4 children.
