Evaluation and Retention

The Master of Science in Human Relations Program consists of a minimum of 37 hours of non-clinical counseling courses and electives for individuals who do not plan to seek licensure or national certification. This Master of Science in Human Relations Program is appropriate for individuals such as teachers, ministers, human resource directors, nurses, law enforcement officers, managers, student affairs personnel in college or university settings, and others who may regularly apply psychological insights in their work settings. This Master of Science in Human Relations Program consists of 22 hours of counseling courses and 15 hours of electives, typically from such graduate level academic disciplines as business, communications, education, and varied human services fields.

Program Objectives
The Master of Science in Human Relations Program enhances understanding and skills in human relations for graduate students. Students will:

Enhance communication skills and demonstrate command and understanding of the nature and needs of individuals at all developmental levels.
Understand human development and develop techniques and skills for interacting with people.
Understand group dynamics.
Understand career development and develop career awareness, resources, and job search skills.
Understand and practice research and program evaluation.
Understand family dynamics.
Apply learning in a practical setting.

Schedule
The Master of Science in Human Relations is offered to students year round (Fall, Spring and Summer semesters) on a full-time or part-time basis. Courses are offered in the late afternoon, evening, weekends, summer, and through distance technology to accommodate the needs of students.
