Administration
Dean - School of Health
- Husson University and the School of Health seeks a dynamic academic leader committed to the continued development of the School of Health. The successful candidate will have an understanding of the evolving health care environment and will elucidate a vision for the future of the School, along with the capability to lead the School towards attainment of such a vision.
An earned doctoral degree in a health profession discipline is required.
Responsibilities
The Dean reports to the Provost/Chief Academic Officer and is the chief administrative office of the School of Health. The Dean is responsible for teaching, scholarly activity, faculty professional development, faculty recruitment, and budgetary planning and management for the School. As a member of Husson University's Deans' Council, the Dean of the School of Health serves to advise the Provost in the overall academic administration of the institution.
Desired characteristics of the successful candidate include:

Husson University is a private institution with over 3000 students that was established in 1898. Husson offers career-oriented baccalaureate, masters, and first professional degrees through Schools of Business, Education, Health, Pharmacy and Science and Humanities. The State Board of Education has authorized Husson University to award the Juris Doctor degree, and a School of Law is in the early planning stages. Husson University occupies a 200-acre campus that is also home to The New England School of Communications, as well as the Bangor Theological Seminary, the only accredited seminary in northern New England.
The School of Health was established in 1981 when the Eastern Maine Medical Center School of Nursing merged with the then Husson College to form the Husson - Eastern Maine Medical Center Baccalaureate Nursing Program. Husson now offers a variety of programs and community outreach, including the MSN degree as a Family and Community Nurse Practitioner, as an Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nurse or as a Nurse Educator. The Department of Physical Therapy offers the DPT degree and the Department of Occupational Therapy offers the MS degree and provides a community outreach program, the Technical Exploration Center, offering assistive technology services. The School of Pharmacy matriculated its first class of Pharm.D. students September 2009.

Faculty
Faculty - Physical Therapy
- Husson University's Doctor of Physical Therapy Program is expanding and invites applications for a full-time, faculty position. Requirements for this position include completion of an academic doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., D.Sc.) in physical therapy, or related field, and Maine licensure eligibility. Consideration will be given to doctoral students in the dissertation phase of their degree.
Responsibilities include teaching in one of the following areas: neuro, peds, acute care, pulmonary, and healthcare policy and administration as well as active participation in scholarly activity, and professional service. This new faculty member will collaborate with current faculty in teaching in the above area of strength. Candidates should have a record of teaching experience and a minimum of three years of clinical experience.
Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Faculty - Pharmacy Practice
- Husson University's School of Pharmacy invites applicants for two 12-month positions in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. Responsibilities include developing, coordinating and delivering didactic education; developing and maintaining innovative clinical practice sites; conducting scholarly activity in an area of expertise; and engaging in service to the college, and community. Applicants from multiple clinical specialties will be considered.
Candidates with expertise in adult or pediatric internal medicine and acute care, community practice, ambulatory care, cardiology, hematology/oncology, critical care, and emergency medicine are encouraged to apply. Candidates must possess Pharm.D. or other terminal pharmacy degree; minimum of two years of professional pharmacy practice experience; prior academic experience preferred; residency, fellowship or similar professional experience; eligible for Maine pharmacist licensure.
The School of Pharmacy will provide an innovative curriculum design, collaborative partnerships with regional healthcare practices and research entities, and joint venture opportunities with Canadian institutions are just some of the components envisioned for this new professional program.

Experienced (Non-Manager)
Cook - part time
- Husson University is seeking an experienced part-time cook scheduled for 24 hours per week during the academic year. Post secondary culinary education desired. The candidate should be a team player, have good interpersonal skills, and have a strong commitment to proper food handling/skills, customer service and creativity. Candidate must also be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.

Counselor (LCPC or LCSW)
- Husson University is seeking a qualified counselor with an LCPC or LCSW license. This is a part-time position, working 24 hours per week, for the academic year.
Responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:
- Assessment of students who seek voluntary or mandated services.
- Development of treatment plans for students who struggle with developmental and mental health issues.
- Ongoing counseling for students who have identified challenges during college life.
- Acting as a resource for professors who want classroom discussions regarding developmental and mental health issues.
- Providing personal counseling services to students.
- Presenting to residential hall floors for "Educationals" regarding developmental and mental health during college life.
- Developing educational strategies for students.
LCPC or LCSW license is required. LADC license is a plus.
Experience with college population is preferred.
