Faculty

Faculty - Physical Therapy - Husson University's Doctor of Physical Therapy Program is expanding and invites applications for a full-time, faculty position. Requirements for this position include completion of an academic doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., D.Sc.) in physical therapy, or related field, and Maine licensure eligibility. Consideration will be given to doctoral students in the dissertation phase of their degree.

Responsibilities include teaching in one of the following areas: neuro, peds, acute care, pulmonary, and healthcare policy and administration as well as active participation in scholarly activity, and professional service. This new faculty member will collaborate with current faculty in teaching in the above area of strength. Candidates should have a record of teaching experience and a minimum of three years of clinical experience.

Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Faculty - Pharmacy Practice - Husson University's School of Pharmacy invites applicants for two 12-month positions in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. Responsibilities include developing, coordinating and delivering didactic education; developing and maintaining innovative clinical practice sites; conducting scholarly activity in an area of expertise; and engaging in service to the college, and community. Applicants from multiple clinical specialties will be considered.

Candidates with expertise in adult or pediatric internal medicine and acute care, community practice, ambulatory care, cardiology, hematology/oncology, critical care, and emergency medicine are encouraged to apply. Candidates must possess Pharm.D. or other terminal pharmacy degree. Prior academic experience preferred; residency, fellowship or similar professional experience; must be eligible for Maine pharmacist licensure.

The School of Pharmacy will provide an innovative curriculum design, collaborative partnerships with regional healthcare practices and research entities, and joint venture opportunities with Canadian institutions are just some of the components envisioned for this new professional program.

Unobskey College Coordinator - Husson University has an immediate opening for the position of Unobskey College Coordinator in Calais, Maine.

Appointed by the Provost, the Coordinator oversees the Unobskey College campus in Calais. This position is responsible for recruitment, coordination of academic and community program offerings and provides direct student services support. In order to provide the highest level of service to the students, this position will be scheduled to work afternoon and evening hours.

Experienced (Non-Manager)

Sous Chef - The Dining Services Department is looking to fill a full time, year round Sous Chef position. The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and ensure high quality product. Must have a positive attitude and great people skills. Good organizational, communication, supervisory, and customer service skills are necessary. A post secondary education in culinary arts, or equivalent, and 5 years of culinary experience in a similar environment is preferred. This position includes, but is not limited to the following duties:
1. Oversees kitchen operations through various meals;
2. Maintains food safety, sanitation, and quality control;
3. Oversees production staff;
4. Oversees and works with cooks in preparation of meals;
5. Consults with supervisor on food ordering, inventory control, and stock management;
6. Serves as lead person in absence of other staff;
7. Consults with supervisor/executive chef on menus and menu development;
And other duties as needed.

Nurse Practitioner - part time - Husson University is seeking a part-time nurse practitioner for its Student Health Services department. Assistant Director of Development - Annual Fund - The Assistant Director's primary responsibility will be to coordinate various Annual Fund programs including the Faculty/Staff, Student and Parent Campaigns. The Assistant Director's overrearching goal is to identify and cultivate donors with an emphasis of moving donors up the giving ladder. This position will work in tandem with the Director of Advancement Communications to coordinate the Annual Fund's direct mail strategy. Other responsibilities will include:


o Coordinating the Annual Giving Leadership Committee Program.
o Coordinating the Alumni Ambassador Program
o Cultivate relationships with constituents for major gifts in annual giving and other areas where needed.

This position requires a candidate who works well independently, has excellent written and oral communication skills and is proficient with Microsoft Office products. The Assistant Director must be able to maintain confidentiality, have attention to detail, possess good judgment and mature decision making abilities and the aptitude to work closely with donors and recipients. Travel with some overnights and/or weekend work is required

The successful candidate will have experience in a college or university setting with a 4-year degree preferred.

Pastry Chef - Husson University's dining services department is seeking qualified candidates to fill a full-time, year round Pastry Chef position.

Some of the primary functions include, but are not limited to:
- Leads bakery/pastry operations for high volume production through various meals;
- Maintains food safety, sanitation and quality control in designated areas;
- Oversees other production staff within bakery;
- Consults with supervisor on inventory control and stock management for designated area;
- Consults with supervisor on recipe development, menus, and menu development;
- Assists with catering needs, specifically in regards to baked goods and pastries;
- Assists in other areas of dining services as needed; and
- Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate should have a post secondary culinary education, 3-5 years in related field, and must have good communication, organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills. The candidate should be able to create with both high quality and high volume. This person should also be self-motivated and passionate about their field.

Entry Level

Line Server - The Dining Services Department is looking to fill a part-time Line Server position for the academic year. The overall purpose of this job is to assist in the basic food preparation and service of meals on the serving line.

Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, must have positive attitude, and be a team player with great interpersonal skills.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
- Serves and maintains food quantities on serving line;
- Assists with food preparation;
- Replenishes supplies of paper goods and condiments as necessary;
- Assists with general cleaning chores in the dining area and kitchen;
- Perform some grill cooking as needed; and
- Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for up to eight hours; may be exposed to extreme heat, dusts and fumes.

SCHEDULE:
Regularly scheduled for an average of 25 hours per week during the academic year. At this time, the planned work hours are: Th 7am-3pm; Fri 10am-7pm; Sat 9am-7pm. Schedule may be changed at any time to fit the needs of the dining services department. Occasional overtime may be required.

The successful candidate needs to have excellent customer service skills. This person will be someone who is self-motivated, takes pride in their work, has excellent attendance, and can work independently, and at other times, work in a team environment.

Short Order Cook/Cashier - Cressy Marketplace - This is a full time, academic year position at the Cressy Marketplace, normally scheduled for Tues-Fri 11:00am-10:00pm.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare food for customers;
- Use of grill and fryolator;
- Maintain food safety and sanitation;
- Sell items to customers (use of cash register);
- Some stocking/organizing;
- Clean and sanitize food service equipment and kitchen/merchant facilities;
- Maintain good customer relations;

Safety and Security Officer - Husson University is seeking candidates to fill an on-call, part-time Safety & Security Officer position. The overall purpose of this job is to be responsible for the protection and safety of the students, staff and property of Husson University.

Job Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Routinely patrols & checks all buildings and grounds,
- Checks boilers, restarting as necessary, and reports problems to Maintenance,
- Monitors parking regulations and issues citations as necessary,
- Monitors University's main telephone answering machine when necessary,
- Directs traffic and controls parking during special events,
- Acts as liaison between the University and the local police department,
- Prepares incident reports as necessary,
- Handles computer reports and paperwork as assigned,
- Provides safety and security for special events,
- Responds to campus safety and security calls,

Custodian - Husson University is looking to fill a night custodial position, normally scheduled to work Mon-Fri 6:00pm-2:30am.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, operating floor maintenance equipment (washing, stripping, waxing), carpet extraction, cleaning and restocking restrooms, emptying trash containers, washing windows, tables, chalkboards, and whiteboards, shoveling snow from doorways/sidewalks, assisting with event setup, and assisting with moving furniture.
