Our Vision
Husson University has established the Husson Institute for Continuing Health Education Programming (HI-CHEP) to positively impact the health and wellness of Maine's citizens by providing continuing education to the health care providers of the state through a continuum of pre-professional to post-professional programming.
Our Mission
The mission of the Husson Institute for Continuing Health Education Programming (HI-CHEP) is to promote the highest standard of health for the diverse peoples who live, work, and play in rural Maine. By targeting the continuing education needs of rural health professionals, HI-CHEP will enhance the health and wellness of Maine citizens, through inter-professional approaches to meet the following goals:
Address the continuing education and professional development needs of health professionals of central, eastern and northern Maine
Collaborate with practice organizations to bridge the gap between evidence-based education and best practices
Integrate research methods and findings for advancement of health professional performance
Engender collaboration and inter-professional team-based practice among health professionals
Act as a resource and conduit for community health education
Address health disparities in delivery of care
Address quality of life issues pertinent to Healthy People 2020
