Biography

A native of Skowhegan Maine, Wells Gordon has been working as an engineer and as a bassist within the southeastern United States for the past 20 years. He recently returned to Maine, joining the faculty at Husson University's New England School of Communications. At NESCom Wells teaches a variety of courses including Audio I and II labs, Critical Listening, Structure and Style of Music for Audio, Music Theory, and The Business of Music.

Wells earned a BS in Audio Production, a BM in Jazz Studies and a MM in Bass Performance (with additional studies in audio post and film scoring). He has studied with John Brown and Robbie Link (Duke University), Grammy award winning bassist Eliot Wadopian, and Eric Revis (Branford Marsalis Quartet). As a graduate assistant at Western Carolina University, Wells studied film scoring and post-production with Carol Grotnes Belk Endowed professor and Hollywood veteran Bruce Frazier.

As an engineer, Wells has worked with a wide variety of artists within the south east including Grammy winning artists Carolina Chocolate Drops, Katharine Whalen, and Jimbo Mathis of the Squirrel Nut Zippers. You can learn more about Wells at www.wellsgordonmusic.com.
