Dr. Timothy Gladwell joined Husson University in 2012 as an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) and his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Maryland Baltimore (UMB) School of Pharmacy. After graduation from UMB, Dr. Gladwell completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital followed by a Specialty Residency in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at UMB. Prior to his current appointment, he served as a faculty member in the pharmacy programs at Duquesne University and at UMES, and he has practiced in a variety of settings from retail pharmacy to cardiology critical care. He is currently board certified in Pharmacotherapy and Ambulatory Care by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties. His research interests include assessments of educational initiatives in a pharmacy curriculum as well as optimization of pharmacotherapy and medication management in the ambulatory setting.

Dr. Gladwell is a member of several pharmacy organizations, including the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and the National Community Pharmacists Association. During his off time, he enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with his wife, Nancy Edgeworth, who is also a pharmacist.

As a pharmacy student, my development was shaped by the influence of many caring educators and pharmacy practitioners. With this in mind, I have always tried to emulate the people who made a difference in my life. My teaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of applying a systematic approach to the management of drug-related problems, while encouraging students to develop the skills necessary to become life-long learners. In this way, students can continue to grow and flourish well beyond the formal education they acquire at the university setting.

Robert Goodwin earned his undergraduate degree from Husson in 1962 and then his Masters in Education from UMO in 1973. He began working at Husson when the college moved to its current campus in the Fall, 1968 as Data Processing Instructor – which is pre-computers! He was promoted to Assistant Professor 1981 and granted tenure in 1983.

While serving as CIS Department Head off and on for many years, he accomplished the following:

Ran the administrative data processing center (punched cards) while teaching full time in the 60s; recommended and supervised the installation of two terminals connected to the Dartmouth Time-Sharing System; designed and taught the first programming course using the DTSS—(Basic) 1970; prepared the justification study for the implementation of a DEC PDP 11/40; designed and assisted in programming the administrative applications; supervised the DEC system which was used both by administration and students; designed and implemented the installation of an IBM System which was used by both administration and students, supervised the operation of the IBM system on multiple upgrades; and designed and implemented the installation of an instructional network with 50 terminals using PCs including assisting many faculty with the acquisition and learning to use their first computers.

Robert Goodwin assisted in the development of the A.S. and B.S. degrees and worked to update the curricula with new courses for currency. He also provided an array of service to the Institution including serving on the following committees:

Scholarship Committee, Commencement Committee, Dean’s Council, President’s Council, Alumni Board, NEASC Self-Studies, Promotion and Multiple-Year Contracts, and Search Committees.

Additionally, he received the Professor of the Year award from the students 17 times and was advisor to Kappa Delta Phi for 20 years. He retired in June 2009 after 41 years of teaching for Husson.

Suzanne received her physical therapy education at University of Missouri (Columbia) a Masters of Arts in College Teaching at University of North Carolina, at Chapel Hill, and a Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership at the University of Maine (Orono). She is a pediatric physical therapist and has worked many years with children with physical disabilities. Dr. Gordon conducts research into educational and leadership processes within physical therapy programs and postsecondary education. She has a number of peer-reviewed publications and presentations in these areas.

Suzanne Gordon

Suzanne conducts research into educational processes within physical therapy programs focusing on multicultural education and the assessment of cultural competency for program outcomes assessment. She has also established a record of qualitative research examining the discourses of higher education leadership.

Julie Green began her service at Husson in 1980 in the Student Life Office.  She worked as Student Activities Director and then Student Life Director.  “My time working directly with the students is a treasure that I hold close to my heart,” said Green.  “Having the opportunity to get to know so many of them and be part of their growth has been a privilege.”  In 1997, she became Assistant to the President and Director of Public Relations.  After returning from a one-year leave of absence in 2008, she was appointed Founding Executive Director of the Gracie Theatre and Director for Public Affairs.  Currently she holds the title of Director of Public Affairs and Government Relations.
