The core curriculum in the Husson University Master of Business Administration Program consists of seven required courses. Five additional courses selected from a range of electives make up the thirty-six credits required for completion of the program. Students with a strong background in one or more of the required course areas may, with approval, substitute an elective for the course(s) in question.
In addition to the required courses listed below, students will take an additional 15 credit hours of graduate-level electives.
For purposes of sequencing, the required core courses and the general management electives in the Master of Business Administration curriculum have been clustered in three categories. Category I courses constitute a first-level platform in the curriculum and must be completed (unless waived) within the first eighteen credit hours and prior to enrollment in any Category II courses. Category II contains selected functional and advanced subject area courses which require the foundation provided by Category I courses. The third category contains all those general management courses which are open to enrollment at any point in a student's program of study. Some Category III courses do have specific prerequisites. Please note: Each student is limited to a maximum of nine (9) total credit hours from BA 790, BA 791, BA 793 and BA 798.
Students who wish to focus their course work in health care management are expected to complete the Master of Business Administration core curriculum, take four of the industry specific courses listed below, and complete other elective courses sufficient to satisfy the thirty-six credit hour requirement.
Students interested in studying management in the nonprofit sector will complete the core courses in the of Business Administration curriculum and take a set of electives which address roles, functions, and responsibilities particularly relevant to non-profit organizations.
